Who we are

The Motueka river valley is located in the upper North of the South Island of Aotearoa New Zealand. The Motueka river flows 116 kilometres from the mountains flows north to the Tasman Bay/Te Tai-o-Aorere, passing through many communities along the way; such as Ngātīmoti, Woodstock, Graham Valley, Riwaka, Brooklyn and others.

The Motueka Valley Association (MVA) is a non-profit organisation representing the needs and interests of the Motueka Valley residents; encouraging community engagement and acting for positive change.

What we do

Our mission is to promote a better community through group action, so that the quality of life in our local area shall be in keeping with the social, environmental, and cultural needs and interests of our residents.

The Motueka Valley Association’s activities fall into several categories:

Meetings are usually held at 7.30pm on the second Thursday of the month in the Ngatimoti Community Room (next to the Fire Station).
